Somedays you have the best intentions but they never seem to go as planned.
Recently, I took on the task of attempting hot rollers, to potentially save some time in the curling department. I am not quite sure why I missed the girlie girl gene but every time I attempt to do something “new” with my hair, it’s a struggle. I pretty much maintain 3 key hairstyles, curly, straight, and the high/low ponytail. That’s about as exciting as it get folks. So not exactly sure why I decided to attempt this, but alas it was quite the failure. I put them in starting from the bottom, wrong. I curled them in towards my hair, wrong, and I didn’t do a section through the middle, I just followed my natural part… wrong. The only genius idea I had was watching a youtube video on how exactly to do your hair… while my rollers were sitting.
It certainly didn’t go as planned but I gave myself an A for effort, and hopefully will attempt this trial again soon. Sometimes this is exactly how I feel about getting ready in the morning. You spend so much time trying to do something new and edgy and it all ends up covering your bed and you just stare aimlessly into your closet.
When these moments happen to me I always revert back to a classic, the denim tuxedo, or Canadian Tuxedo as I like to call it. I have worn versions of a all denim look multiple times on my blog (here & here), and overtime I come back to it, I remember how much I miss it. Something about a full denim look is like a blank canvas. You can wear it just as it is, casual or you can add accessories or layers to dress it up as much as you like. Honestly, I don’t think denim will ever go out of style so its always a solid go to look. Who knew that throwing on a simple blazer, or ever a tuxedo blazer (like I am wearing) could make a full denim outfit a little bit fancier.
When your work allows you to wear denim on Friday’s, show em who’s boss…

I’m not much of a hot roller fan myself. I rely on the good ole curling iron for curls. You look great in the denim and that white blazer is the perfect touch. Have a great weekend!

I love this look! I love to wear denim on denim and then add fun accessories. And i understand the hair curling struggles. I always wanted curled hair and tired all sorts of curling irons and rollers. But nothing worked. Then I tried a flat iron to CURL my hair and it’s the only thing that works! My curls stay in for days! It’s also a lot faster than a curler or rollers.
