Black Zara Sweater Dress

The heat wave continues, and besides the vast array of pumpkin spice products, corn mazes and pumpkin patches, you would have no idea it was fall. Lately it has felt more like an extended summer instead of cooling down. I often have to wear summer favorites to accept the warm temperatures but throw on some autumn favorites to satisfy my need for a seasonal wardrobe refresh.

Typically in cooler temperatures I find myself pairing my favorite dresses with tights, tall boots, and sweaters. These days even attempting to wear one of those items often ends in regret after I leave my house. Being a girl of summer I never thought I would ever begin to long for a weather change, but the lack of fall we have been experiencing has me wishing a cold front would begin to roll in. I also hope that due to the lack of fall, we won’t just jump straight into a brutal Utah winter. Needless to say, nothing can really stop me from wearing my new lace up knee high boots. So when the season arrived, regardless of the temperature, I realized I would easily sacrifice comfort in high temperatures for these beauties that I had been searching for. Pairing these thigh high boots with a simple sweater dress and some thigh high socks make my outfit fitting enough for fall but cool enough for the summer(ish) heat.

All over the country people are experiencing interesting climate changes from their traditional weather conditions. How are you dealing with the lack of fall or the early start to winter? I would love to hear more opinions on how you are utilizing your fall favorites, even when it may or may not be seasonally appropriate.
