Most people are getting their Halloween costumes ready and preparing for the weekend. I am however in the midst of end of the month for work. If you know anything about agency life, the end of the month is crunch time. So due to my long hours at work, I have opted for more comfortable attire that I can wear in and out of the office.
At around 7:00am when I roll out of bed I am somewhat in a zombie like state, I rummaged around my closet looking for a comfortable and work appropriate look. Due to the hot weather we had earlier in the season, I didn’t get to utilize a lot of my fall weather purchases. I hate to admit, but most of it was still lying in its packaging just waiting to be put away. It wasn’t until the cool front started to move in, that I even got a chance to go through my new purchases. I was finally the time to wear my draped cardigan sweater now that the weather would permit. The draping can be worn openly as a cardigan or buttoned over the left shoulder as a draped sweater. It was also the perfect length to cover up my rear end and slip on some leggings. I am a firm believer that leggings do not replace pants and should only be worn if the top or sweater appropriately covers your back and front sides. Trust me, no one wants to see anyone bend over in leggings and you wouldn’t just wear opaque tights as pants either!
Although this minimalistic look is right up my alley, I had to jazz it up a bit with my Saint Laurent fringe ankle boots (amazing pair for 1/15th of the price!) and a metallic leather bag. Giving your outfit a bit of personality is a great way to not only make it your own, but allows for easy transition to take you work look out even when you are off the clock!
