Eleventh & Sixteenth turns ONE today!

I know I can speak on behalf of a lot of bloggers when I say this, but the first year of blogging is hard work; it seems like it’s the ultimate test for survival. I see a lot of blogs pop up, but rather quickly they lose their steam. Sure it may look easy, but it takes lots of planning and prep work (us bloggers don’t always admit that). Don’t get me wrong, with hard work comes great success. Now one full year later, I am proud to still be continuing Eleventh & Sixteenth.
Lately, I have had a lot of people ask me for advice on how to stay motivated. Here are some few blogging tips I find particularly important to keep your blog alive and kickin’:
Stay Active on Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest):
o Each one allows you to connect with subjects, brands and link-minded peers to keep you inspired in your hobbies and interests. Being active on social media also allows you to promote your own content with others.
Get Involved in Blogging Communities:
o Whether that be conferences, Facebook groups, forums, or events, networking with peers locally and/or nationally opens up doors for make new collaborations and friends. I have met some amazing people through blogging that inspire me to push myself and my content to the next level.
Create a Blog Schedule that Works for You:
o Creating content multiple times a week sounds easy, until you get busy, uninspired, or even realize how much time it takes to actually create one post. By establishing a routine schedule, you can hold yourself accountable and make a consistent lineup that your readers will get used to. Having a physical copy of your agenda will allow you to easily jot down your ideas in advance for later reference or regular reminders.
o There is never a bad reason to be ahead of schedule in blogging.
o Pinterest also has some great printable templates to get you started. Even a basic planner will serve a similar purpose!
Be Yourself:
o I saved this one until the end because it is the most cliché answer of them all. It’s so important that we reiterate the value of this statement in relation to blogging.
o Every blog is different in its own way. In seeing the many online, I’ve come to a point where I’ve realized I cannot compare myself to other blogs/bloggers. This only leads to trying to follow in footsteps others have already created. By being yourself and sticking to your true voice, you show your blogs unique individuality.
So finally, I really want to thank everyone who has supported Eleventh & Sixteenth, especially those from day one. I am so eager to see where this next year takes me. It wouldn’t be anything without your loyalty and support!

    Congrats on the 1 year!! It really is such an amazing accomplishment. And it really is hard work maintaining a blog. Great tips. I totally agree with all of them. Especially the last 😉 I really need to schedule my time better (I am thinking of doing an editorial calendar). It is true how things get busy so fast. Lovely outfit as well girl. Loving the sparkle and cupcake (yum) for the ocassion!

    Yay happy 1 year anniversary!!

    It’s definitely no small task to keep up with the blog. I have so many on my feed that are just no longer active because people just, give up! I find it’s such an addicting and rewarding hobby.

    Can’t wait to see what’s happening in year 2 🙂

    Agreed! Many people don’t realize how much work goes in to a single post. I hardly have time for TWO posts per week with my current schedule 😐 You have done a great job. Keep up the good work! I love the sequin top –every celebration calls for sequins!
