Most of the things going on in my head lately have been surrounding the thoughts of what my New Yearโs resolutions are going to be. Granted, I may be a bit late to the party, but all of the amazing posts I am seeing on the internet really have me inspired. Announcing what you would like to accomplish to the world really doesnโt give you much of an opportunity for failure, but is more of a great motivational push to accomplish your goal.
With that being said, all of my goals this year revolve around the idea of being a little more financially savvy. I find myself to be an impulsive shopper instead of contributing more towards my savings account. Allowing myself to save more and limit my shopping expenditures would give me the opportunity for more new experiences instead of hanging on to material items.
- Document all shopping purchases monthly, and maintain a shopping expenditure ofย no more than a pre-set amount per month.
- Complete the 2015 savings plan to encourage the growth of my savings account. (If you would also like to participate, use the chartย HERE on my Pinterest board!)
I do have other goals I would like to continue to maintain, such as cooking at home much more frequently and even taking a few cooking classes here and there to continuing to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, financial goals are much harder for me to maintain, especially in times of excess (Black Friday, etc). By documenting my progress to everyone throughout the year, hopefully I will be able to curb my addiction, save a little cash, and explore places I havenโt been yet!
Pray for me.

Gurl you really do look lovely in black and red. It just makes you pop and that outfit look so pretty on you. I love it!!
I have two goals that is actually making it so hard to do the fashion part of my blog, and that is being completely debt free (May 2016) and having a basic emergency fund (Sometime in 2016). so it is really good to hear about your goals. It is making me stick to my guns :D.

I’ve been doing the exact same. I am absolutely an impulsive shopper, but after the new year, it just doesnt make sense to continue to buy MORE winter items when I can simply make better use of what already exists in my closest (I’m sure there are some things I dont even know are there – sad!). Great goal! I can’t wait to hear about your progress! XO

It’s always great to have goals. I like that you’re doing financial goals because, as bloggers, we talk a lot of things we want to buy, so it’s good to be aware of how much we’re spending and if we’re actually buying the things we need….even though, sometimes, there are things we truly need–like awesome red beanies.

I love this outfit and would wear it in a heartbeat. Except I’m not sure if I can pull off a beanie. ๐ That said, I too am loving reading everyone’s goals! It’s really fun and motivating to see what everyone wants to work on. I think all of us bloggers are in the same boat about needing to be a little more cautious in the spending department. Ugh. So hard!

I love the plaid with the black! I always struggle with how to style my red post-Christmas for some reason. Weird, I know.
I’m trying to be more cautious with my spend this year too. I’ve started to forget about new items in my closet, and that’s a sign I need to take a step back.
