Sure we all have that one thing in our closets that we cannot stop buying. Regardless of how many we have, or how many we actually need… we want them in every style, material and possible color. For me, this item comes in the form of a blouse. Long, short, sleeveless, crop, patterned, printed, silk, satin, or cotton, I literally have a strange obsession with blouses. 

Early on I realized the versatility of this classic piece but never really understood why it held such a prevalent statement in my everyday style. Traditionally most women wear this piece for everyday work week chic, me however, I choose to wear this mostly in my off days. Don’t get me wrong, I love a classic t-shirt, but there is something so polished about a blouse. Relaxed and comfortable, yet professional and put together, a blouse really serves so many effortless purposes. From simple styling with jeans, to unpredictable pairings with mini skirts and blazers, blouses never seem to go out of style. They are one of the only key pieces of my closet that I know I will utilize every year and season.

This baby blue blouse caught my eye at the recent Zara sale and clearly I can’t seem to say no. Most of the time I order my clothing online and what arrives as your door sometimes looks completely different that what you envisioned on the computer screen. For blue being my favorite color, I was surprised I haven’t purchased this color yet, but was extremely pleased with how soft and neutral the color was in person. The delicate and drapey fabric was a polar opposite from my dark and destroyed denim jeans and punk rock pumps, which made this look all my own. I mean lets be serious, everything needs a bit of an edge!

I know I am not the only one here… So, what can’t you stop buying?

    I always love your detail shots! You’re looking great in this baby blue blouse. I tend to always purchase sleeveless tops and then I look in my closet like, “where are all the sleeved options???” I’m a mess.
