Groundhog Day may have predicted an early spring but I am still expecting winter for a while longer. Here in Utah we are notorious for the “Best Snow on Earth!” Little do people know, that snow continues sometimes even into early May. In order to stay sane, it’s almost essential to escape from the layers and make a trip to a warmer destination. I am craving the sunshine and this week I have already started packing to head off to Vegas… you could stay I am getting a head start.
Every year, around this time, I begin a hate/love affair with winter . We all enjoy Christmas and New Years, but right as the holidays end and you start enduring brutally low temperatures for months proceeding, winter doesn’t seem as pretty as it once was. You have often heard my frequent posts about the perfect winter coat and my colossal collection, but having a lot of coats for me is a constant necessity. One thing that is fantastic about this time of year is not only beefing up that coat collection, but finding some serious coats that are finally going on sale for the year. This neutral grey coat is currently marked down and I already know it’s going to get major wear in the years to come. I don’t know what it is about coats with hoods this year, but this grey coat is just as convenient as a dress with pockets.
My coat collection may keep my urgent desire to move towards warmer temperatures at bay, but my longing for spring and summer continues to linger in my shopping habits. Recently, I have gone a bit haywire in the shopping department prepping for the upcoming season. With a few sneaker purchases, a new pair of cut out heels, a good pair of overalls, casual shirts, and a classic neutral dress, you could say I am hoping summer decides to stick around as long as our winters.
