With social media these days, it’s easy to feel like everyone is a professional makeup artist. People are putting on layers and layers of makeup on to look contoured, or give themselves the effect of fuller lips. Don’t get me wrong, there are many amazing and talented people out there, but majority of the time, I don’t want to wear much makeup at all.
Recently, I went on a snapchat rant (You can follow me at: kp0ssible) talking about how the natural makeup look was extremely under rated in a world full of contoured faces. I know I am not the only one who RARELY wears makeup, if ever. Most days you will find me in under 4-5 products, making my daily prep easy, natural, and obviously freeing up a bit more time to get more shut eye.
I had the pleasure to test out Rimmel London Stay Matte products, and a couple other of their products that I was immediately excited out. Something about high quality drugstore makeup really gets me pumped, especially products that have been receiving amazing reviews. I had to try it out for myself and I can’t even begin to explain how impressed I am with these products. Before I continue to rant and rave about each one, I wanted to bring you my go-to natural makeup look in four easy steps- it’s seriously that easy!
1. Start with a Clean Face
I know this goes without saying, but I am sure there are plenty of us out there that attempt to just reapply. Starting off your makeup on a fresh slate will guarantee that the product will last as long as possible. Plus lets be serious, nothing feels better then starting off with a clean face in general.
2. Apply Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation
If I am going out at night, often times I will prep my clean face with a primer. However, during the week or for casual outings I skip right to foundation. Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation is a feather light, oil free formula that delivers all day shine control with a mattifying finish, giving me no need to prep with oil control lotion or even use my primer. It comes out thick, but applies ULTRA smooth and with amazing coverage.
Airy lightweight mousse texture, incorporating state-of-the-art gel emulsifiers, simply glides over the skin, blending seamlessly and evenly. The product was easy to blend with my foundation brush, without having to use too much product. Sitting on your skin, the foundation felt lightweight in texture, not heavy or greasy. It also minimizes the appearance of pores while also being oil free!
3. Set with Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder
I am a powder junky! Having oily skin, it’s almost essential to keep powder on hand at all times. I love the appearance of a matte look and making sure I keep my shine in check is top priority. Making sure you set and secure your foundation with a powder is ridiculously important. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder controls shine for up to 5 hours, minimizing the appearance of pores with a natural, matte finish. I promise you, you won’t go out without it!
4. Apply Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara
There are very few products I refuse to leave the house with, and mascara is one of them. Literally you could wear only mascara and I think I would feel instantly better. For this look I used Rimmel London Volume Colourist Mascara, and was immediately impressed with how well it worked. The tapered lash-intensifying brush wraps every lash with blacker than black pigments, making them instantly fuller and longer (even looking back on this photo, I realize how long and full it made my lashes, instantly).
My favorite part about the mascara was the fact that over time, lash tint complex with natural colorant gradually darkens the color of your bare lashes to help them appear more visible from root to tip after 2 weeks! The non-permanent tint will wear off gradually after the last usage, but with regular usage you might not even need to wear mascara as much! That’s a win in my book!
5. Finish off with Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Nude Collection
As a woman, I think being a lipstick junky is something that is engraved in our DNA. Nude lipstick however, will always be my favorite. Sure a red lip, and even a retro 60s brown has come back into style, but nothing is as timeless and as perfect for everyday as a nude. Rimmel London’s line of the Kate collection in a nude line-up literally knocked it out of the park. With up to 8 hours of long lasting nude color, I was beyond impressed. The color applies rich and smooth, and exactly in the color that it appears. I especially love the lovely smell, and it hasn’t left my handbag since I bought it. I literally plan on purchasing one of each of the 10 amazing shades.
Now you’re all finished, and with only 4 products! Comparing my start to finish photo, I always am so impressed at how even and matte my skin turned out. It also looked matte the rest of the day!
So be sure to test out all the of the Rimmel London products I used at your local Wal-Mart! You can also save up to $4.50 on RIMMEL London products with Ibotta!!

You have such a great point. We are in a society right now that values contouring, perfect eyes, etc. It feels like the bar has almost been set too high to be considered beautiful. Appreciate this post so much. Your eyelashes are beautiful!

You look fresh and gorgeous! I’ve been adopting the natural look lately too, it’s too hot during the summer for much else. So, I’ve been working on improving my skin so I can use less foundation. I love Rimmel products! I want to try their highlighter but I haven’t been able to find it in stores yet. Bummer!

I adore natural make up looks! I’m allergic to some foundations, so I never dare to use them. But I love the dark mascara and the lipstick looks really natural! Gorgeous look!
