This past weekend I picked up and went on an impromptu vacation to visit some family friends. Deciding just Thursday night of my Friday night escape was the breath of fresh air I needed (fresh air indeed, Salt Lake was covered in a horrible inversion). Before spending Saturday shopping, I discovered the art district in Las Vegas. Buildings covered in amazing graffiti rounding the whole block.
Coming home and showing some friends my pictures of the art and my ensemble I got some very interesting responses.
“It’s very urban, not so much feminine,” “Do you really like the look of loose fitting clothing?” Such questions raised my eyebrow in the interpretation of how women should dress. Why can’t dressing casual and urban be considered stylish or feminine?
Obviously I disagree with this, and fully appreciate street wear and its introduction into the high fashion realm. You could always dress any one of these items I am wearing with a mini skirt, or throwing on a pair of heels; but really, where is the fun in doing what is expected.
So I ask you, what are your thoughts on street wear style?
Also a huge thank you to the ‘Your Next Skirt’ segment of the ‘Your Next Ensemble’ website for featuring me on “5 Different Skirts and How to Style Them for Winter.” Eleventh & Sixeenth comes in at #3 with my take on styling a Midi/Maxi look, check out the article [HERE].

Streetwear and high end fashion are becoming synonymous nowadays. Some of it is even tough to tell apart. It’s dope to pair together. Versatility.
