Last night, I had an interesting conversation with one of my girlfriends over text message. It began with this text message, “The older I get, the more black I want to wear, coffee I want to drink, traveling I want to do and money I want to make.”
Recognizing how much this idea has resonated in my life, even just in the new year alone, really has been heavy on my mind. Not only from my goals of saving more money and paying off bills, but how life has really pulled a fast one on me and made me look at my life and career in a different light.
I guess you could say this whole ‘All Black Everything’ mentality has really made me clean out all the unnecessary things out of my life and make room for things that are going to stick around for good. It actually has me asking the questions, “Will this be something I keep for longer than a season?” “Have I worn this in the last year?” “How can I organize my house to make my life easier?” “Could I save this money or spend it wisely on an experience that will be worth much more?”… It’s these types of boring adult questions I’ve been asking myself lately and really evaluating what a classic in my life really entails….

I’ve been loving all black too. I love the belt and the shoes to break it up a little. I agree, I want to travel more and just be smart with how I spend money. Thankfully my husband is a finance guy.

All black everything always wins in my book. But I also have a lot of black & grey in my closet 🙂
Great look, love the ripped denim. I just cleaned out my closet and asked the very same questions…I got rid of things that hadn’t worn in the past year. Felt good to make room in my closet and get rid of the clutter 🙂
