Wedding season is certainly in full swing as I add new engagement photos and invitations to my fridge. For part 2 of my ‘What to Wear to a Wedding’ series, I wanted to bring something a little bit more non-traditional.
Over the past few seasons the matching set has become a very classic staple, from traditional 2-piece women’s wear business suits, matching short suits, all the way to skirt and crop top sets. This pairing has even been seen on the runway, inspiring the latest wedding dresses. Why not take this stylish approach to our wedding guest apparel?
The nicest part about wearing a set is the outfit is essentially already planned for you. The top and the bottom are already a perfect match, but you get to tailor your look to your personality based on the accessories you choose to pair it with. In my case, I usually love a bold color, print, or texture leaving my accessories to a minimum (I never really have been one to layer them on anyways). The midi skirt option is my go to as I have shorter legs and prefer to stick to a more flattering style for my body (the one I am wearing is on sale!), where shorter skirts are a great option for gals with long stems. Be sure to check out all my favorite matching sets below for a different take on fool proof wedding style!
Don’t be afraid to be too matchy matchy!
Top: ASOS {on major sale}, Skirt: ASOS {on major sale}, Earrings: Baublebar {identical on sale}, Shoes: Manolo Blank, Clutch: Balenciaga.
