Happy Hump Day!
When I received this amazing light weight floral skirt, I couldn’t resist pairing it with a striped sweater. For as much as I love coordinating pieces and outfits my love for mixing prints is also an interesting one. Over the last few years I have certainly started to take a much more minimal approach to everyday dress, yet certain bold style choices always seem to be on my radar. Mixing prints is certainly one of those styling methods that has stuck with me over time.
Everyone has a favorite print whether that be stripes, florals, plaids, houndstooth, gingham, or even windowpane, we all seem to gravitate towards one or even multiple prints. Pairing multiple prints together really creates a cohesive look in a very simple and laid back way. It also allows you to wear 2-3 of your favorites at one time without always having to rely on a neutral to pull your look together.
I have had quite a few people come to me having issues with styling the mixed print look with fears of it looking too over done or messy. What I like to tell people is, keep it simple. When you are mixing prints together that alone creates majority of your statement. Make sure your shoes are neutral and your jewelry is minimal keeping the statement on the clothing itself and not your accessories. If you want to wear a bold shoe or a layered necklace, maybe keep it to one print and mix it with a classic piece, like a solid blouse, or a pair of jeans.
What are some tips you have for styling mixed prints?
Sweater: Forever 21, Skirt: c/o Shein {under $25!}, Clutch: Charlotte Olympia, Sunglasses: Grey Ant, Earrings: Baublebar {similar}, Shoes: Christian Louboutin.

wow heels! Look at how high they are! Incredible. I can tell you, although I am continuously terrified of mixing prints, I do enjoy the stripes and floral combination. I’ve experimented with this combo numerous times, but oddly enough, I’ve only done the floral on the bottom, stripes on top. One day, I’ll get the courage to try the reverse! Love this skirt/sweater combo on you.

The shoes are amazing! I love Louboutin heels but they are often way too high for my taste and I can’t walk in anything over 4 3/4 inch LOL.
