5 years of being a college grad, this past May, sure flew by! I don’t know about you, but a lot of my college memories have been sitting in a box in the back of my closet for all that time. Throughout my 4 years in college, I was part of a sorority (YAY Pi Beta Phi!) and accumulated A TON of college, football, sorority, dance, philanthropy, and recruitment t-shirts..seriously I wasn’t kidding, I had a lot.
For the past few years I have been searching for a way to utilize my college t-shirt collection, but never found anything that really impressed me, until I found Project Repat. Project Repat is an awesome company that makes quilts using any of your old and prized t-shirts. They were the perfect fit for all of my favorite college shirts that I didn’t want to get rid of, but didn’t just wanted to leave sitting in the back of my closet either.
When I received my completed quilt I was so impressed with the results! This baby isn’t your typical grandma’s quilt. They don’t have batting, interfacing or sashing, but they are lightweight and warm, and wash really well. Plus, the turn around time was killer and was just a short 2-3 weeks before my completed quilt arrived on my doorstep. It would make a great personalized college grad gift idea if you are in a pinch for time and they also offer a rush option as well for you procrastinators ;).
Another thing I loved about the company was that everything is made in the USA, with recycled Polartec fleece on the back of each quilt. You all know how much I love recycling (Tree hugger over here). Since launching in 2012, Repat has prevented over a million t-shirts from getting dumped in landfills!
I really cannot recommend Project Repat enough. They are one of the most affordable options on the market and a great way to preserve your memories while clearing out your closet space! Be sure to check them out on YouTube for all of the details! (You can watch the video below!)

It’s been 7 years for me, but I don’t have as much college swag as you. But I must say, this quilt idea is pretty fab. It looks really cool and I totally want one!

What a cute post! My boss from my internship did this for her daughter years ago with all of her old t-shirts. It was such an adorable thing for her to do!

OMG….I absolutely love the concept and how your blanket turned out!! I have so many old t-shirts sitting in various places around the house, because I just can’t toss those memories away.
This is a perfect gift for almost anyone, even kids who’ve gone to summer camp or played on certain sports teams each year.
