Skirts and Sneakers

I am not sure if most people are dealing with this insane heat wave that has taken over, but it has completely altered the way I want to dress this summer. As much as I love jeans, light jackets, and layering, I have steered away from wearing any of these items in the last few weeks. When the thermostat is pushing 100+, the lighter and breezier the clothing, the better. 

I snagged this Helmut Lang twist skirt (p.s. it’s now 40% off!) over Memorial Day weekend and got a fun opportunity to wear it in the Las Vegas heat a few weekends back. I didn’t realize how obsessed I would become with this skirt but the second I slipped it on, it was an instant favorite. The perfect amount of stretch, high quality breathable fabric, and the bold hue was a serious success. It also helped in the 104 degree weather we had that weekend, what I came home to and what has been the trend in the forecast lately.

However, with running around doing errands and day to day tasks, sandals don’t always fit the bill. From not having the right amount of support to sometimes causing blisters after long wear, I started wearing sneakers with my light skirts. I won’t lie, skirts and sneakers have become a recent obsession. I love the sporty look it gives your outfit, but allows for comfort all day long. You literally could wear this outfit shopping or even on a full day at a theme park!
