My birthday is typically the last official hurrah for summer. This year I am having a hard time coping with the idea that fall is right around the corner. Most of us are getting excited over cold weather wear and draping ourselves in rich colored layers… while I’m over here trying to take full advantage of summer dresses and cut off jeans. The older I get the less excited I am for cool weather and the more I long for warmer temps all year round. It’s that laid back vibe and easy dressing that makes me wonder if I was secretly raised a California girl instead of a Canadian girl.
Needless to say we still have a few short weeks left of warm weather before the valley will start getting darker earlier in the day and the temperatures will slowly start to drop. Until that time has come I have been living in bright colors and white jeans (that denim dare sure changed my outlook on white jeans). When this Lilly Pulitzer blouse arrived in the mail there was no doubt that I would be wearing it until the weather would no longer allow it. The vibrant colors and Picasso style palm print consistently has me craving margaritas and summer waved hair. Which was clearly a no brainer when I paired it with this equally tropical Lilly Pulitzer golden palm frond clutch. I am almost more sad that I received it so late in the summer, but gives me plenty of reasons to start planning a winter getaway vacation!
I know I am not the only one who could wait a few more months for Fall to arrive. If you are a summer lover like myself, what are you slowing dreading giving up as we reach the end of the season, and how do you incorporate them into your fall attire?

You’re so right! I’m totally over here thinking about fall, but I think that’s only because the air has a morning chill to it, and I’m such a big chicken when it comes to cold (raised in Cali) that I just preemptively layer up! Love that cute top! You look so great in those colors! I didn’t catch if you’re birthday was coming up or had passed…either way, happy day!

I’m not ready for fall either, so I’m loving this summery outfit.
Fall/Winter is such a long season, so I’m in no rush to welcome back my heavy sweaters.
