Ever since my recent ‘Denim Dare‘ post, I have essentially jumped head first into this white denim skinnies trend. I realize that I am slightly late to the game and this has been going on for quite some time, but to me, this was a huge “Ah Ha” moment in my wardrobe. After the initial adrenaline of conquering my fear, I couldn’t get enough. Maybe it’s the fact that I am obsessed with neutrals, and white denim jeans are a classic player in most minimalistic wardrobes, but I feel like I opened up a door of endless opportunity.
In the midst of my white skinny jean fever I scored this killer snake print blouse a few weekends back and pairing it with white denim just seemed like the perfect match. While I was playing dress up, traditional blue jeans just made the pattern a bit too bold, clashing with the animal print. White created that neutral canvas I love so much and paired nicely with nude heels and my Chloe bag… that I may or may not have also scored a few weekends back.
After I went over the final combination in the mirror I couldn’t help but think of the movie American Hustle. Maybe it’s just the snake print blouse or the big gold chain but I was rocking a 70s attitude and I wasn’t mad at it. Something about taking a modern day spin on retro times has been a refreshing change in my everyday wear. From a 50s vibe to this groovy throwback outfit, getting inspiration from iconic decades has been the underlying theme in majority of my pairings.
Besides the 50s and 70s that I have been playing off of, what are your favorite decades where you gain the most inspiration from?

I am absolutely loving the top. When styling my own outfits, I tend to stay away from prints as they don’t also mesh with my personal style. But you wear the snake skin so well!
