12th Man

Football season is finally here and proves to be an interesting time. Coming from a household where every person in my family and friends likes a different team, every week is rivalry week. Unfortunately here in Utah we don’t have a professional NFL football team, but we certainly throw fantastic parties to bring everyone together for Falls favorite sport. 

I for one am a member of the ’12th Man’ or if you are not familiar with that term, the Seattle Seahawks fan base. When most people hear this, they assume I am a band wagon fan, which couldn’t be more false. Graduating from college in 2010 it was time for me to grow up from NCAA football (Go UTES!) and find a NFL team to call home. After a full season of getting to watch different teams, and understanding the players, coaches, and fan-base, I began to watch particularly close to the Seattle Seahawks. What started as purely moral support for a close friend (who actually got drafted to the team), turned into a weekly ritual of cheering and getting familiar with the history and spirt of the Seahawks (they also have the best colors/helmets in the league!).

So every week is an opportunity to rep my team to the fullest. Especially when each week you are going up against a friend or family member, which makes each and every win that much sweeter! I like to stay decked out in my favorite apparel from NFL Shop.
