It’s Fall and we are all unpacking our knit sweaters, plaid scarves, and thigh high boots. The only problem is, it’s still 90 degrees! As much as I want to wear my opaque tights and my long jackets, I have to come to terms with the fact that the cool weather just hasn’t arrived yet. Good thing I like to improvise and still create Fall inspired looks with summer (almost) approved clothing. I picked up this amazing sleeveless trench coat dress late winter last year.Over the course of the summer I brought it with my to San Diego, and wore it around the valley all season, in true dress fashion. Although, with the vest trend reaching all time highs this fall, I took it upon myself to create a fall inspired trench look with a warm weather friendly bare leg. If it was only the temperature fall is actually supposed to be, this look would pair perfectly with a pair of flare leg jeans. It’s also pretty obvious that I was heavily influenced by London Fashion Week, and all the perfectly polished british looks I spotted all over the internet. Each fall Fashion Week I always wish we were back in Spring instead of fall, but I’ve always been a warm weather kind of gal myself.
At the end of the day, whether you are on the East coast feeling the chill, in the Australia just beginning your spring months, or even stuck in a heat wave here in SLC, the trench coat is universal for all seasons. You can wear them open, buttoned, or belted, the options are completely endless. So pull out all those layers and throw on your trench coat, falls ACTUALLY coming and I can’t hardly wait!
