As soon as I put on this outfit I literally told Haley, my photographer… “This is classic KP right here.” A simple everyday look that I not only wear in the office, but out running around in the evenings on weekends (because lets be serious, in the daytime I am in workout clothes or sweats). Not only have I been obsessed with neutrals over the last year, but as of recently, I have been incorporating a lot more navy into my wardrobe. Besides loving a solid pair of navy jeans, I never really paid close attention to this rich hue. I always associated navy with more of a nautical theme and never transitioned it into my regular wear. Only recently have I discover how complimentary the color navy can be with all of my favorite neutral tones.
Last weekend if you saw my lovely snapchat, (@kp0ssible) I pulled about 1/3rd of my wardrobe for donations, allowing myself room in my closet to purchase more neutral basics. In 2015 and now well into 2016, I have been ditching most of my neon and over the top bright colors and have been checking them in for nudes, grays, whites , blacks and now navy. Even this navy handbag I snagged, I used to own in a much brighter teal color, but quickly replaced it with a much more muted and versatile shade. I also am a sucker for the gold chain…
Transitioning to a much more minimal wardrobe allows these richer colors to stand out and create more of a jewel tone affect, while allowing the classic staples to really shine. I also will take any opportunity I have to make my legs look longer with a killer pair of nude heels.

I associate navy with nautical themes too, but it is such a classy and timeless colour, especially in a simple turtleneck or cashmere jumper! Love how you styled this outfit, the colours go together perfectly.

I have a hard time wearing navy because I find it difficult to pair with black. I don’t usually wear brown. And unless the denim is the right light shade, it always looks off to me. Love how you put this look together. – katy
