With Valentine’s Day roughly around 2 weeks away, I have noticed a surplus of pinks and reds taking over my social channel news feed. The weird part is, I couldn’t be less phased. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some V-day, but lately I have fallen head over heels with something a little deeper then dark chocolate. I have fallen madly in love with the color black.
First and foremost, I would like to give a shout out one of my best friends Sami for finally now helping me appreciate what is the simplicity and elegance of the color black. According to Wikipedia, “In the visible spectrum, white reflects light and is a presence of all colors, but black absorbs light and is an absence of color.” What science doesn’t teach you is that not only will black look ridiculously slimming, it will be the perfect color for every occasion and it absolutely never goes out of style. It took approximately 27 years for me to accept the color black as the best friend I always wanted. It’s that little black dress, that bad ass leather jacket, and that perfect pair of jeans you can’t stop wearing. A relationship that would not only see me through the good and the bad, but will stick with me throughout the years.
