If you frequent Eleventh & Sixteenth or even peek at my Instagram account often, my love for wearing all things denim related is almost immediately identified. From Canadian Tuxedos, overalls, skirts, jeans and jumpsuits, it’s easy to say that I own it all. A denim dilemma doesn’t often arise but there are a few things have have proved to be a slight challenge. White jeans were a fear of mine for a while, until I conquered them and now I plan on living in them the up coming months. It wasn’t until recently that a different dilemma presented itself, the dilemma of wearing flared jeans.
Flared jeans were always something that intimidated me. Looking perfect on slender ladies, a curvy girl such as myself might have a bit of a struggle styling this retro classic… or so I thought. It took a while but eventually I mustered up the courage to just invest in a pair, might as well try right? It was an affordable investment picking up this affordable pair from PinkBlush Boutique (They are also on sale!). This trendy online women’s boutique had a ton of different jean styles, but this flared leg style certainly caught my eye. I may or may not have also picked up this darling PinkBlush extra long tunic as well (on sale in mocha!)…
Doing some research on styling flare leg jeans, it’s important to find a pair that starts below the knee. Not making you thighs appear bigger but allowing the exaggerated leg to no affect your body proportions. After trying them on with a few different things they started to warm up to me. I loved the different style of jeans and actually playing dress up with flared jeans is pretty fun. I ended up pairing my oversized flared leg jeans with the extra long tunic I picked up and topping it off with one of my favorite tweed blazers. Not only playing off the fun oversized shirt and flares, but giving it layers!
What are some recent clothing challenges you have overcome?

I love your flared jeans! I have a pair of rust colored flare pants from GAP and love them. I would like to own some denim ones!
I just bought pair of flared cords and LOVE them. So glad that style is coming back right now. Also, I’m really liking the length of these on you. – Katy
I love a great pair of flared jeans! And I love how you styled these. That jacket is amazing!
I’m a straight leg jeans kind of girl but flared jeans looks so good on you. I think my thighs are a little too thick for flared jeans to good! But GREAT look babe, so retro!

As a curvy girl myself, I’ve always steered clear of the flare jean. So this is super inspiring! I may have to go out and buy a pair even though I thought I never would.
You look so good in hats! I don’t have a pair of flared jeans because I haven’t been able to find a pair that work for short girls. You can’t really hem them too much.
This is absolutely stunning! I love that hat, jacket and flare jean combo! Killin it mama! xo
You look gorgeous! I love this outfit! I haven’t worn flared jeans since they have made a comeback but I’m loving the trend!
These jeans are the bomb diggity! I’ve been wanting to try flared jeans for a while and this is convincing me that I need to get a pair!
I still can’t believe flared jeans (bell bottoms) are in again. I love skinny jeans so much so not going to lie I was a little bummed to hear this! But you make them look so cute, you did great styling them!!

Love this outfit! Your hat is gorgeous and that shirt!! I used to wear these jeans in high school all the time! That was about 10 years ago. (Ouch! Did I really just say that?) I’m glad they’re making a comeback. Maybe I’ll try some out to replace my skinny jeans some time! They look great!
