Hair Repair and Care
It’s ironic how in the new year of 2018 I am looking forward to going back to my natural self. Being the realist me seems like the best way to take on all my goals. But this has certainly been a challenge… until now. After dying my hair blonde twice, and those in-between months dying it an intensely dark brown. I was always avoiding my true and natural color. The problem now? I am left with lifeless and brittle strands. I have put my hair through it all. From mechanical influences like combing, and brushing. Temperature stressing by using my hair dryer and curling iron. Even chemical treatments and environmental influences have left my hair in shambles.
Through my research of hair care, I came across an Allure Best of Beauty Award – Schwarzkopf Gliss™ Ultimate Repair Shampoo & Conditioner for the best shampoo & conditioner for damaged hair.
Hair loses Keratin over time. GLISS’s Hair-Identical Keratin replaces the lost Keratin for re-gained strength and smoother hair surface. The patented technology repairs up to 10 layers deep, replacing lost Keratin for beautifully strong & smooth hair. It’s almost crazy how you don’t really realize all the damage you are causing to your hair until its too late. GLISS® Hair Repair™ products provide everyday treatment that has the patented technology to repair your hair.
It was a must have on my shopping list and has been giving my hair the daily revival it needs to turn back into its natural form. But what else can you change to keep the health of your hair in the best shape ever? Follow the list below to make sure you’re hair repair game is strong and you can show off your locks all year round.
Hair Repair and Care:
-
Change Your Water
Did you know that water can also damage our hair? Salt water and chlorinated water make a huge difference. Every time you wet your hair, your color fades and leaving your hair wet for too long causes the hair to swell, which can cause splits and breakages. Water can cause breaking or split ends even if you never blow-dry your hair. (I am extremely guilty of this…)
-
Brushing
You don’t need brush your hair constantly to have healthy shiny hair. It’s also more likely that brushing the wrong way is damaging your. This is called mechanical damage. Be gentle on your hair when brushing and invest in a good quality brush.
-
Touching Your Hair
Try to do your best from playing with your hair. Dirt from your hands transfers across to your hair. The constant touching causes breakage as well.
-
Accessories
Hair elastics are not the gentlest on your hair. They snag and cause breakages, especially at the ends of your hair where it’s weak.
When you’re removing them from your hair, spritz them with the Schwarzkopf Fiber Therapy Leave In Conditioner Spray and also spray some on the ends of your hair. The bands and clips will slide right out, plus you treat your hair at the same time. -
Your Purse
Wearing a shoulder bag or cross body bag and even your backpack, you’re often catching your hair underneath the straps. That regular wear and tear on the same side of your head causes split end breakages.
-
Your Pillow
I didn’t really think that a pillowcase would make a big difference until we switched to silk after I got one for Christmas last year. Not only is it so much smoother on your hair, it reduces frizz and stops those pillow creases forming. It is also a life saver for your skin!
-
Wearing the Same Style Everyday
I always find myself wearing the same ponytail or bun every day but it’s damaging your hair.
Tight hairstyles constrain your hair, and placing your hair band in the same place daily will cause a ring of breakage around your hair.
Making simple changes to your hair care routine can make the difference between luscious locks or dead ends! Be sure to head over to your nearest CVS and pick up Schwarzkopf Gliss™ Ultimate Repair products and start treating your hair today.
